Created in partnership with mission-driven lender CDC Small Business Finance, the Wisdom Fund funnels money from accredited investors – institutions, funds, foundations, family offices, and individuals – into business loans for low-to-moderate-income women and women of color. TruFund is one of the three inaugural lenders that will provide loans to women entrepreneurs through the fund.

“We hear a lot about the gap in venture capital funding for women, but the vast majority of women who need capital are not forming hyper-growth startups; they are starting small businesses to pursue economic freedom, flexibility, and independence. The financial system is not serving them well, and we’re very much failing women of color in particular,” said Catherine Berman, CEO, and co-founder of CNote, an impact investing platform whose mission is to close the wealth gap in the U.S.

“With the Wisdom Fund, we’re taking a major step toward fixing a huge injustice—women’s businesses receive far less funding than they deserve,” said Berman. “We’re working with an amazing group of nonprofit community lenders nationally to entirely rethink lending to women.”

Terms: Maximum Loan Amount: $350,000.00
Interest Rate: 10% – 12% Terms: 3 – 5 years Application Fee: $250

About BREX

Brex is rebuilding B2B financial products, starting with a corporate card for technology companies. This credit card company helps startups of all sizes (from recently incorporated to later-stage companies) to instantly get a card that has 20x higher limits, completely automates expense management, kills receipt tracking and magically integrates with their accounting systems.

business credit card

Meet the minimum qualifications?  Give us a call for a consultation or you can also apply here.

Brex offers corporate cards. Minimum $100,000 bank balance needed to qualify.

Corporations and other forms of non-individual liability companies are great Brex customers. Brex underwrites with Employer Identification Numbers (EINs), not Social Security Numbers, so consumers, sole proprietors, and other unregistered businesses are ineligible. Only companies organized and registered in the United States (such as C-corps, S-corps, LLCs, or LLPs) may apply for a Brex Account. Consumers, sole proprietors, unincorporated partnerships, and companies registered outside the United States are not permitted to use, or attempt to open or use, a Brex Account.

Brex underwrites businesses—not people—so individuals’ credit scores are not affected. Brex considers factors relevant to your business: your investors, your cash balance, and spending patterns, and sets your limit accordingly. Signing up for Brex won’t affect your credit score and does not require a personal guarantee.

Spending limits are typically 10-20x higher than those of competing cards.

Brex reports your on-time payment information to Dun & Bradstreet and Experian to help you build up business credit history.

Disclosure: In some cases,  we receive a small commission when we connect you to a Partner through our provided links.   Rest assured, we would not recommend a Partner that we have not already researched, vetted, and/or directly used their service and/or products in our own business operations.
